Ever since 2007 when David Benioff was hired to adapt a screenplay about Kurt Cobain’s life from the biography Heavier Than Heaven, the rumors have been rampant about who would play who, who would direct and when the film would finally come out. As of today we might be a teensy bit closer to an answer for at least one of those questions, as Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster is allegedly considering coming on board.

Production Weekly reported via Twitter today that Forster was “eyeing” the biopic. Head here for a good play by play on everything that’s gone down since Benioff first took on the screenplay two years ago.

No more information on whether the screenplay is actually done has been made available, so we wouldn’t recommend holding your breath. The only thing we still know for sure is that Courtney Love is the executive producer. For whatever that might be worth to you.
