Men At Work Guitarist Arrested After Making Threats Against Men At Work Singer

menatwork

Remember Men at Work? You know, “we come from a land under” … no? Eh, anyway, the guitarist  from the Austrailian 80s-reggae-influenced band, Ronald Strykert, was arrested on Friday, following an outstanding bench warrant for making criminal threats toward lead singer, Colin Hay in December of 2007.

It may not be a Chris Brown and Rihanna incident, but according to authorities, Strykert threatened to kill Hay over the phone from his home in Montana just over a year ago. Police sent a letter to the guitarist, informing him he must show up to Malibu court for his arraignment on misdemeanor charges, but in typical rock star fashion, Strykert never showed up, causing law enforcement to finally arrest the 51-year-old last week.

The LA times reported that Strykert denied making the alleged threats against Hay, and according to Hay, he never believed the guitarist would carry out the death threat in the first place. We’re still trying to figure out what’s the big deal, but for now we’re not expecting to hear any groundbreaking jailbird blues come out of Strykert any time soon.
