Jamie Stewart, Freddy Ruppert And Nika Roza Form Former Ghosts

formerghosts

For the past month, we’ve been hearing too much news about new supergroup collaborations that are only half decent, and are formed on a whim of mid-life-rock-star existential crises, so when we heard news of Xiu Xiu’s Jamie Stewart forming a new trio, we were pleasantly surprised.

Stewart joined forces with Freddy Ruppert of This Song Is A Mess But So Am I, and Nika Roza of Zola Jesus to form Former Ghosts, according to Pitchfork. The band is working on a new LP that will come out later this year on Upset the Rhythm

If you want to get a taste of what’s to come from Former Ghosts, some of their new material is posted on the groups MySpace, and Ruppert will be testing out some of the new songs in L.A. later this month. Stewart will also be going on a solo tour, starting tomorrow in North Carolina.
