Last night, just hours before The Dears were set to kick off their six-week North American tour tonight in Toronto, the band’s tour bus was stolen from the parking lot of a Comfort Inn in Montreal while the driver slept in his hotel room. Fear not, because the show will go on — but keep your eyes peeled for a misplaced bus.
The coach was stolen from the Comfort Inn lot, located at 700 Blvd. in St. Jean, Pointe-Claire, Montreal, prior to a scheduled 6 a.m. departure. Thankfully, there was no luggage or gear on board the bus at the time and the band’s trailer was spared. The band is forging ahead with all shows as planned, but if anybody has any information about the stolen tour bus or knows of its whereabouts, please contact the authorities. The bus model is a Prevost, Series 60, Accuride Alcoa with the license plate: V957YW.
