Jackson Rathbone, the teen heartthrob from Twilight, has reportedly agreed to play Varg Vikernes (a.k.a. Count Grishnackh) — the former Burzum mastermind who is currently serving a Norwegian prison term for the August 1993 murder of Mayhem guitarist Oystein Aarseth (a.k.a. Euronymous) and setting fire to three churches — in the upcoming movie Lords Of Chaos.

This… if they go through with this film starring this fucker as motherfucking Count Grischnack… Black metal will finish its ongoing process of becoming a commodity, something to be sold to the blind masses… Thousands of dumbshit pre-teen girls who would otherwise be going to the fucking mall will watch this, Burzum, Mayhem, Darkthrone and all the others will become household names… This must be stopped… It is already bad enough with Dimmu Borgir and Cradle Of Filth out there selling the genre out… It should be the joint missions of every single fan of true black metal to stop this shit before its too late…

Varg has already spoken out against it on his website.
Unfortunately, they don’t need his permission to come out with the movie.
Whats worse; is that it’s that guy from twilight. This movie will be huge. He doesn’t even look like Varg- they couldn’t even get that right.
No good will come of this.

I don’t know, seems like a from beyond Euronymus revenge, of course, Euronymus has been laughing too loud of this , Varg Vikernes personified for a girlie boy and the bad news won’t be funny for the count, besides he always been angry with the book and the movie, in other point, actually bands as Mayhem, Satyricon, Marduk etc, etc, are involved in a “mainstreamnization” process so, they change to a radical position to a political correctness, instead as bands as Ad Hominem, Urgehal, Satanic Warmaster the support political extreme ideologies, however, they still in the underground, as cult bands, but not looking a massive sales record, if the industry push them to “rearrange” their music to become in a commercial shit, Dimmu borgir, Cradle of Fag only is the comercial an unsubtancious consecuence when black metal deny the roots.

That’s a disaster for Black Metal. It makes me want to puke. I disagree on black metal being dead. Black Metal the way it was born is dead. It evolved in something that is not better or worse, just different, we had plenty of great new bands releasing in the last few years, and a fucking commercial movie won’t change the music. Just the fans getting more and more stupid.
