New York’s Bicycle Film Festival Fast Approaching

bff
Yes, BFF has meaning outside of your text message lexicon: New York City’s ninth annual Bicycle Film Festival, happening June 17 – 21! The festival, founded by Brendt Barbur, is designed to unify the urban bike movement through music, art, and film. The first event, aptly named Bikes Rock, kicks off hard with a free concert featuring The Teenagers and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion (reunited specially for the night) at South Street Seaport’s Pier 17. A sprawling art show by the name of ‘Joy Ride’ will be held across four venues on the Lower East Side and SoHo on the 18th, followed by many bicycle-themed film screenings from the 19th to the 21st. Also thrown in the mix are a bicycle parade and block party in front of the Anthology Film Archives on the 20th, and bike polo in the “pit” (is your curiosity piqued yet?) as the grand finale on the 21st.
