This morning at 7:30 AM, New York’s RXP 101.9 debuted the leadoff single from Pearl Jam’s upcoming studio album, Backspacer, titled “The Fixer.” The tune, which Rolling Stone describes as “radio-friendly”, is rumored to be part of the band’s Cameron Crowe-directed commercial for Target. While the group does have a retail exclusive deal with the mega-chain, both the Ten Club and independent record stores will sell Backspacer starting on September 20. The band will hit the road in support of the album, named after a turtle they sponsored in the Great Turtle Race. Tour dates below.
