Roots & David Byrne Join Dirty Projectors On Stage in NYC

It’s good to be Dave Longstreth these days. Just in case being profiled by New York Magazine as a symbolic representation of Brooklyn’s musical creativity and putting out one of the most interesting indie rock albums to come out in years wasn’t enough, he also proved on Sunday night that his posse is definitely cooler than your posse.

Dirty Projectors capped their tour with a four-show run in New York City, finishing with a Bowery Ballroom set opened by Juliana Barwick and Tune-Yards. During their set, they were joined onstage by three members of The Roots (noted DP fan ?uestlove among them) for two songs, including summer smash “Stillness In The Move.”
As if that hadn’t already made you forget the $15 you dropped on the show, during their encore they brought out an extra microphone for David Byrne and they all did their Dark Was The Night jam  “Knotty Pine” together. Man does this show make staying home to watch football seem like a boring choice… (Via: Brooklyn Vegan)
