James Murphy Adds Some Rhythm to New Noah Baumbach Flick

Noah Baumbach (of The Squid and the Whale and Kicking and Screaming fame) has a new movie coming out.  James Murphy’s “All of My Friends” serves as the soundtrack to said film’s trailer. Said trailer promises that the movie will also feature original music from Murphy, which he said in an interview with Drowned In Sound, will sound “NOTHING like LCD”. The film, titled Greenberg, stars a suprisingly subdued, non-obnoxious Ben Stiller, who agrees to housesit for his brother in Los Angeles upon losing his job. He then reconnects with his old friend and former bandmate, played by Rhys Ifans, while spending increasing amounts of time with his brother’s personal assistant (Greta Gerwig). “As their relationship develops through a series of embarrassingly awkward romantic encounters, even someone as irascible as Greenberg might have at last found a reason to be happy,” the official synopsis reveals. The film will be released on March 12 of next year. It sounds like the perfect role for Stiller. Mr. Murphy also makes a cameo that should prove to be as perfect a dramatic fit.
