Arcade Fire Preps New Album, New Songs “Better”

large_arcade-fire2The internet’s ears are burning with reports of a new Arcade Fire album to be dropped next summer.  Billboard reported the Canadian septet will release a new single early next year, play some shows that summer, and follow it all with a yet-to-be-named LP come May 2010. Additionally, the BBC is reporting that the record’s producer is Coldplay/Björk collaborator, Markus Dravs, who also worked on Neon Bible. That particular morsel of news comes via a BBC 6 interview with Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons, who previously worked with Dravs. Mumford let it slip that Dravs has been working on the third Arcade Fire record for the past six months and claimed that Dravs called the new Fire songs “better.”
