Kim Gordon Made A Book About You (And How You’re Kind Of Creepy)

KimGordonBookIt’s become clear over the years that while Kim Gordon has some obvious chops in Sonic Youth, simply deeming her a musician doesn’t really do her gifts justice. She’s an artist in several senses of the word: fashion designer, actress, visual artist, curator.

Later this month, Gordon will see the release or her art book (via Rizzoli New York) Performing/Guzzling. The book features Gordon’s work in the form of watercolors, paintings, photos and words, as well as essays from guests like The New Yorker’s Hilton Als. The theme stems from her experiences being on stage with Sonic Youth and focuses on what she sees when she looks out at the crowd from the stage and “the idea of being watched and the insecurities that it brings.” So when you thought Kim was eying you back in ‘93 at Mercury Lounge, maybe you were right. But it might not have been for the best reasons. (Via: P4K)
