Though I’ve spent less time with Mark Linkous’ music than other people, the news on Sunday that he had taken his own life has been a horrible bummer. Aside from wondering why, it made me think of 2001’s It’s A Wonderful Life, the first record of his that I bought back in high school. Do you think that title was sardonic? I hope not. I hope he felt like that was the case at some point. Anyway, that record was great. It still is.
