Girls Can Tell is the new album from Austin rockers Spoon. Singer Britt Daniel’s voice drifts into Gavin Rossdale-land at times, but the bandís 70ís classic rock pulse re-ignites the bandís life force, driven by moody funk grooves. The three piece once stayed at the Matador home, then drifted over to Elektra, and now reside on the Merge label. Some of the 11 tracks vary in sound, comparable to Cracker at times, The Clash, or even Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Hand claps, mellotrons, harpsicords, violas, and the attitude of Mick and the rest of the Stones makes this a refreshing force to be recon with in the indie rawk world.
