This band is just GOOD. What else can I say? The My Vitriol crew release yet another single
from the staggeringly fantastic Finelines, this time around it’s “Grounded.” The track is the most
crossover friendly song on the album, all harmonies and mid-tempo guitars, the band veering slightly from
their usual nu-skool Nirvana meets the Cocteau Twins routine, but still keeping their
inherent ability to write a damn good tune. Having a video featuring the ¸ber-cool Vincent Gallo
doesn’t hurt either. The first CD single is rounded out with an excellent cover of Madonna’s “Oh
Father,” taking a slightly different tack than Mrs. Guy Ritchie had initially planned. Whatever
course they take, however, follow them: they seem to be headed in the right direction.
