Paint The Silence

Ahhh….it’s 1990 again. Or sounds like it. Say hello to South, a rare guitar oriented
signing to James Lavelle’s seminal trip-hop label, Mo’ Wax. South are a 2001
embodiment of the Stone Roses songbook, whilst not exactly having their vibe. They
also throw in a touch of newer school beat-oriented quirky pop like Beta Band and
come up with their debut cd single release “Paint The Silence” (they had previous vinyl only
singles). The groove is plenty evident and Lavelle’s own UNKLE mix makes
the song hit even harder, sounding like the original meets DJ Shadow’s “Organ
Donor.” Now THAT’S tasty. Check it yourself…
