Stay What You Are

Vagrant

New Jersey natives Saves The Day are proud to offer their Vagrant debut titled Stay What You Are, a melodic pop record produced by the legendary Rob Schnapf (Elliot Smith, Beck, Guided By Voices). “We wanted to do something different, and we really liked the idea of finding someone (Schnapf) who doesn’t usually do band’s like us”, explains drummer Bryan Newman. The band recorded two records on the Equal Vision label, Can’t Slow Down, and Through Being Cool before signing to the popular Vagrant roster. The eleven tracks found on Stay What You Are are filled to the brim with a fresh new sound and look into the band’s psyche, which could take the band from the melodic hardcore category, shooting them into the indie rock “must have in your CD stack” level. Keepers include the lead off tracks At The Funeral, and See You and Certain Tragedy has radio ready written all over it. The vocals provided by Chris Conley are innocent and capture a honesty that most bandís are unaware of, since they just want to end up on MTV. The production from a highly respected producer, the backing of a powerhouse new label, and an array of fantastic pop fueled rock songs are going to make Saves The Day a force to be reckoned with in the rock world. Say hi to Jessie at Vagrant and get your hands on this record.
