Geffen / Outpost

Tweekend is the sophomore album from Los Angeles’ homeboys The Crystal Method. “The Name Of The Game” has mostly likely set itself inside your brain by now, along with every other CM single, as the tracks that this duo create are insta-classics. Tom Morello (RATM) appears on “Name Of The Game”, and produced three songs on the album as well. Scott Weiland appears on an evil track appropriately dubbed “Murder”. Weiland, Jordan, and Kirkland never met face to face to record the tracks, everything was sent via e mail – the way grandpa used to record music. Most of the songs include fierce guitar loops, and some dude either saying “ah yeah”, “come on sucka”, or “mmmmm good” or something. The mainstream music world needs an electronic / programming act to break through. Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, and maybe Moby have done their part, but I think that the world needs to take in The Crystal Method…or just take in meth.
