Ever wonder what happened to 3 Colours Red? The rock act signed by Alan
McGee to his Creation label, all bluster and ramped-up guitars and no US support, until
a radio-friendly ballad called “Beautiful Day” caused a minor ripple? Well, the lead singer
and head pretty boy, Pete Vuckovic has returned with a new act, Elevation.
The band, which also features Keith Baxter, the drummer from his prior band, as
well as ex-Radiator bassist Janne Jarvis, pretty much takes off where
“Beautiful Day” left off, except updated for 2001. On “Special” drum loops, samples and
electronic effects are added to the sparse but edgy guitar lines, augmenting the traditional
rock song format and turning it into something just a little bit, wait for it…”Special.”
