Wigan’s finest Tim Buckley fans, Starsailor have released another single from their excellent debut album, and this time it’s the jangly
“Poor Misguided Fool.” The live favorite is more jaunty than most of the tracks on Love Is Here, save “Good Souls” and is therefore a prime candidate
for single release. The true gem on the single, however, is the Soulsavers remix. The aforementioned jauntiness is stripped away, leaving a spare
skeleton of a song. A cello line reverberates hauntingly and a second string line adds a cinematic Portisheadesque quality to the song that pushes the
quality up a few notches. Quite nice, indeed…
