DJ, producer, remixer, and some might say supreme sex stallion, Oakenfold’s career spans from signing DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince to the UK-based Champion Records to providing remixes for U2, New Order, The Cure and Massive Attack. Most recently, his golden fingers touched the movie soundtracks for Swordfish, and Tim Burton’s Planet Of The Apes. Oakenfold has created Bunkka, an unconventional structure built from the roots upwards, made up of pop, rock, dance, and hip-hop cement. “Ready, Steady, Go” is like driving 100 miles an hour on the autobahn at night, with your eyes closed. The guitar fueled anthem opened up a new world for Oakenfold, who recruited everyone from Perry Farrell, Hunter S. Thompson, and Shifty Shellshock of Crazy Town to Ice Cube, Tricky and Nelly Furtado to help make Bunkka a unique and highly anticipated piece of artillery, which will plug into your dome on June 18.
