Named after the sound dancing women’s dresses were said to make in a famous French theatre, Frou Frou is the meeting of major musical minds: singer Imogen Heap and producer Guy Sigsworth. The former was better known as a solo artist, while the latter was best known for his work with Bjork and Madonna. After this album, however, they may both be best known for Frou Frou. Details is an amazing amalgamation of strings, beats and the incredible voice of Ms. Heap. Concurrently reminiscent of recent records by Dido, Bjork and Kosheen, Details highlights Sigsworth’s programming and Heap’s one-of-a-kind breathy delivery. Debut single “Breathe In” is as catchy as they come, while the upbeat “Must Be Dreaming” falls closer to the beat-tastic realm of Kosheen. On top of that, they have a stellar website, 100% fancy. Not much else can be said about this spine-tingling offering save for one phrase: get it NOW.
