If you donít like screaming, reggae/ska influenced beats and rhymes mixed in with your rugged and rough punk rock, Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Travis Barker (Blink-182), or the kamikaze vocals of Rob Aston, than fuck off – this music was not made for you. If you love all of those things, than The Transplants is right up your scummy alley. ìTall Cans In The Airî
is the party track and beloved radio favorite, while ìD.J.D.J.î is a lovely DIY anthem that highlights the sentimental side of Tim Armstrong , which is complemented with Astonís thumping rhymes and delivery. The piano fueled ìDiamonds and Gunsî could be the theme song for the next Tarrantino gangster flick (Timís line ìtaken more shots than Karl Maloneî needs to be singled out), that is once again solidified with Astonís thug outlook on this miserable life. ìSad But Trueî is another peek into the often unspoken ìsoftî side of Tim Armstrong (who has a tattoo of a spider-web on his bald head), while “One Seventeen” is a choatic masterpiece complete with digitally enhanced sound effects. Brody Armstrong and Lars Frederiksen scream backing vocals on a few songs, but the real story here is the Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde relationship of Aston and Armstrong. One is a punk while the other is a street thug and both of them hook up nicely for this boisterous piece of new punk rock noise. This is a no holds barred shotgun blast to the temple. Think Biohazard & Onyx ìJudgement Nightî part two.
