Aw yeah you Electroclash motherfuckers, this is some primo fuel for your fire. From the warped mind of Joel Peterson, the bass player from the flashback dancemongers The Faint comes Broken Spindles. 11-track instrumental tracks like play more like a botched DJ set than a record. Inspired by the everlasting new wave sound, this exclusive look into the future sound of dance is much appreciated and somewhat scary. Most of the computer generated creations take a few minutes before propelling into the gloomy unknown. I honestly wish this were a DJ record, that way the need for song titles and dead air between songs would be erased. This wild child is the perfect remedy for a soothing batch of mushrooms, a weekend fiesta, or your freeway joyride. Fans of Aphex Twin and Squarepusher will enjoy and appreciate this bold experimental effort.
