Monsoon

Preston School Of Industry
Monsoon

Somewhere in the alt-country version of the Justice League, the words can almost be heard: ìWonder Twins power, unite!î Thatís what you get on Scott Kannbergís second Preston School Of Industry project. Joining forces with the ex-Pavement man on Monsoon are Wilco (on ìGet Your Crayons Out!î) and Scott McCaughey of Minus 5 (on ìTone It Downî and ìCaught In The Rainî). The result? A highly-varied, yet complex romp through the al-country landscape. Heavily influenced by the events of 9/11 and the state of the world since, Kannberg injects political insights into the twang rock of Monsoon, teasing your musical pleasure center as well as prodding your brain. He may have been known as Spiral Stairs in Pavement, but thereís nothing circumnavigatory about Monsoon: itís straight ahead and aiming for the sky.
