Just Want To Live

Loog/Polydor

Liverpool ñ the land of The Beatles, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Laís, The Boo Radleys, and more recently acts like The Coral and The Zutons. Welcome to your musical radar screen, then, another Liverpudlian band, The Open. Sharing more in common with the first list of bands than the second, this quintet traffics in expansive, emotive rock in the Coldplay or Verve spectrum. Fronted by passionate frontman Steven Bailey, The Open have inked to ex-NME scribe James Oldhamís Loog imprint for Polydor and ìJust Want To Liveî is their second single release. Itís the stuff that crush tapes and poignant scenes in movies are made of, all heartfelt vocals, atmospheric guitars, and choruses meant to be sung by 30,000 people at once at any huge summer festival. If epic, impassioned, mind-expansive, intense, cinematic rock is your thing, your thing has yet another new name: The Open.
