On The Buzzes

London-based indie label supreme Fierce Panda have done it again. As is their wont a few times a year, they’ve chosen six bands they are excited about and thrown a track by each on their newest compilation, On The Buzzes. Culled together from the brightest hopes from England’s capital, this EP features tracks from recent UK #1 album holders Razorlight, who offer up an exclusive alternative version of “The Dagger Song,” while The Ludes and their ska-influenced indie rock check in with “She Was Just A Girl.” For extra confusion factor, there are tracks from The Rakes and The Rocks, but no reason for confusion, as the latter sound influenced by The Libertines, while the latter have a bit more groove in their soul. Fierce Panda always bring the best and brightest to the forefront at an early age (Supergrass, Elastica, Idlewild, Keane to name a few) and one only wonders who the new stars from this group will be. Listen and judge for yourself.
