The Good Life is not really a side project for Cursive frontman Tim Kasher. Instead, it’s more like a second, equally important nationally touring act that allows the talented songwriter to explore the softer, more intimate side of his musical self. Formed in 2000 with the intension of being a solo project, in didn’t take long for The Good Life to become a band, and for that band to come into their own. With Album Of The Year, you can expect catchy, moody pop/rock that will appeal to both young aspiring rockers and a more mature, veteran club-going audience. You can also expect to hear a plethora of break-up songs that delve into every aspect of a break up scenario with a witty, sometimes humorous viewpoint. “Notes In His Pockets” is the debut single from this, the band’s third full-length album, and it, along with the title track and “Lovers Need Lawyers,” amongst others, make for a fab listening experience.
