Future Soundtrack For America

Barsuk

This CD, like the Rock Against Bush comps, is an example of the passion, power and freedom that independent record labels can bring to the table. In a time where corporate consolidation, market share and stock value have become more important than social responsibility, it is now clearly up to indies to make a difference. Thankfully, along with Fat Wreck Chords, Barsuk has decided to put profits on the back burner in order to make a real contribution to the future of America. Dubbed the Future Soundtrack For America, this compilation CD will donate all profits to Music For America and MoveOn.org, non-profit progressive organizations working to involve more Americans in our political process. While not a collection of Bush bashing songs, FSFA does collect rare and unreleased tracks from top artists like Death Cab For Cutie, Bright Eyes, Tom Waits, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, R.E.M., Nada Surf, The Flaming Lips and even the first new Elliott Smith track to be released this year, “A Distorted Reality Is Now A Necessity To Be Free.” Either for the cause or simply for the music, go get yourself a copy.
