Never, Never, Land

UNKLE
Never, Never, Land

UNKLE is back. Almost five years on from the mind-melding debut Pysence Fiction, James Lavelle’s rolling project picks up long-time production partner and friend Richard File as partner in crime and delivers Never, Never, Land. With anything UNKLE, you know you will get the stable of artists on collaborations and there’s no let down here. The “who’s who” includes two ex-Stone Roses members Ian Brown and Mani together again on “Reign”, Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age on “Safe In Mind”, Jarvis Cocker and Brian Eno dueling synths on “I Need Something Stronger”, 3D from Massive Attack contributes on “Invasion”, and South’s Joel Cadbury giving a nod to the Beatles with “Glow”. After spending his teen years working with the likes of Richard Ashcroft, DJ Shadow and the Psychonauts, as well as running Mo’Wax, a mature Lavelle has UNKLE poised for a strong return to a genre they pioneered. Ever adventurous, a fall “decks’n'effects” tour is bringing the soundsystem to a city near you! Call it trip-hop, atmospheric, spooky, or breakbeats, the music will bring you to Never, Never, Land and you may never never want to come back.
