After releasing a pair of alluring EPs on the C Student imprint, then graduating from Louisiana State University, the Cajun cuties of Baton Rouge known as The Eames Era have been moving full force towards capturing new audiences like crushed heart in their penniless pockets. Their miasmatic meals have been served on shows such as Grey’s Anatomy & Falcon Beach and the dudes recently scooped a cool $2,500 in the 2007 Yaris SXSW promotional video competition.
On April 17 the EE will release their 17-track debut, Heroes And Sheroes, a chirpy cache of flashy pop-jewels which sparkle a substantial shine. Vocalist Ashlin (great name) Phillips tickles us back to the times spent listening to Helium, Velocity Girl or The New Pornographers. Phillips’ sugar sweet intonation is the perfect accessory for this great outfit of socking pop that can be worn to school, on the playing field, or to the trouser arousing sock hop. “All Bets Are Off,” “Fake Do-Gooders,” “Watson On Your Side,” soar to the front of this Bayou barge as it effortlessly drudges up and down ole Miss like an all night party cruise. Every burst of buzz bites with an immediate and fluid snap. With luck and some big city sass, these avid LSU Tigers will be roaming around the mainstream jungle of notoriety in no time.
