This news makes a sad day for 80’s babies everywhere, and a near-guarantee that “Take On Me” will be in your head after seeign their name in all these headlines. The band (who were together for 25 years, and hilaroiusly seem to have very few photos from the last 15 or 20) are calling it a day to focus on “other meaningful aspects of life, be it humanitarian work, politics, or whatever else.” They will leave you fans out there with a farewell tour and a final show December 4, in Oslo, Norway. Parisian indie popsters Phoenix are getting the Holy remix treatment from NYC’s Holy Ghost! on “Lisztomania”. The Ghostly duo add heavy influences of some A-Ha here and maybe a little of the Beverly Hills Cop theme there for the electronic jam. Read the full story

Dubbed (by the American media, mind you) the Swedish Dolly Parton (despite being Norwegian), Ane brings a power to her songs through her voice while displaying a seemingly effortless ability to craft indelible — and often times jarring and despairing — personal songs of intimacy.
