Rolling Stone is reporting that Bonnaroo’s cleaning crew found a dead body on site on June 16th, the day after the festival ended. Details are sparse, but the Caucasian male was in his 20’s, thought to be from Alabama, and last seen alive around 3:00 pm on June 15. Lack of bodily trauma leads officials to believe that the death was either drug-related or caused by a pre-existing medical condition. Sadly, this is the seventh death in the festival’s eight year run, despite the fact that arrests were down this year in comparison to previous years. If you intend to be a festival-goer this summer, please keep in mind that excess sex, drugs, and/or rock n’ roll can be deadly.

The gods have been smiting merry festival-goers across the globe this summer; first Glastonbury and now Bonnaroo and the CMA Music Festival. According to NewsChannel 5, the National Weather Service has decreed a severe thunderstorm watch for Coffee County (amongst other Tennessee counties) which may affect the Bonnaroo festivities starting this Thursday. Additionally, people were evacuated from tents at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville due to strong wind gusts and potentially dangerous lightning.

Have you seen the line-up for Bonnaroo? No seriously, have you seen it? Eclectic doesn’t even begin to describe a festival that can showcase Merle Haggard and Crystal Castles in the same line-up. Or how about a reunited Phish playing 2 shows in the same arena as The Dillinger Escape Plan? So you have absolutely no reason to not want to win tickets to the 2009 edition of Bonnaroo.
