Conan played these clips of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog at Bonnaroo on The Tonight Show last night, and we have to say that the endings of both parts (pt 2 after the jump) are troubling in very different ways.

Rolling Stone is reporting that Bonnaroo’s cleaning crew found a dead body on site on June 16th, the day after the festival ended. Details are sparse, but the Caucasian male was in his 20’s, thought to be from Alabama, and last seen alive around 3:00 pm on June 15. Lack of bodily trauma leads officials to believe that the death was either drug-related or caused by a pre-existing medical condition. Sadly, this is the seventh death in the festival’s eight year run, despite the fact that arrests were down this year in comparison to previous years. If you intend to be a festival-goer this summer, please keep in mind that excess sex, drugs, and/or rock n’ roll can be deadly.

They’ve been on SNL and all over late night, and now they’re hitting the road — but are we the only ones wondering when the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will bring some love back to Brooklyn?

No signs of a home-turf show this time around, but the trio will be hitting up the Sasquatch Festival in Quincy, Wash., Bonnaroo and All Points West with a scenic trip around the U.S. in between. They are, of course, supporting their latest album It’s Blitz!.

In his usual fashion, David Byrne has been keeping himself quite busy, and now the multitasking musical genius will be curating his own stage at Bonnaroo this year — and is the first musician to ever do so at the festival as well.

Byrne’s stage will be on Friday, June 12 and he’s already tapped Dirty Projectors, Ani DiFranco, St. Vincent, Katzenjammer and Santigold to be a part of his world. We’re hoping we will get to see some great collaborations by the end of the Friday set.

Among the multitude of things Byrne is diving into lately, the musician has also confirmed that Santigold will be contributing vocals to his upcoming album with Fatboy Slim. According to Pitchfork, Here Lies Love is a concept album working around the life of former First Lady of the Philippines, Imelda Marcos. Byrne has also enlisted the assistance of Roisin Murphy and Tori Amos, among others, to lay down vocals on the new album.

It’s called Octahedron, it clocks in at about 49 minutes and practically everyone who worked on it has a compound last name. It’s the forthcoming fifth studio album from The Mars Volta, and it can be in your hands as early as June 23.

The duo at the core of Mars Volta, guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala were joined on the album by multi-instrumentalist Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez, drummer Thomas Pridgen, keyboardist Isaiah “Ikey” Owens, bassist Juan Alderete de la Peña, and guitarist John Frusciante.

Allegedly, U.S. tour dates to support the album are in the works, but so far all we know for sure is that they’ll be at Bonnaroo and Outside Lands.

The Low Anthem have been gaining a lot of buzz lately after being tagged to open for Ray LaMontagne and Elvis Perkins on back to back April tours. Now, on the heels of the announcement they’ve been asked to play this year’s Bonnaroo festival, the homegrown, roots-rock trio will be releasing an album in June off of their new label.

Oh My God, Charlie Darwin, which was originally released by the band independently, will be re-released of off Nonesuch Records on June 9. This will mark the band’s first album release with the label, whom they just recently signed with. The band will also be touring the East Coast in promotion for the record, making a stop in Manchester, Tennessee for Bonnaroo and a Bowery, NYC date around the release.

The first run copies of Oh My God, Charlie Darwin will get some extra special treatment from The Low Anthem. The exclusive album copies will be made with some extra TLC, as they will be hand pained and silk-screened. We’re going to call heads on this one, and say The Low Anthem is a band to watch after this album is re-released in June.

During a stellar performance at SxSW, Grizzly Bear showcased some of the new material from their upcoming album, Veckatimest, and if you haven’t already heard the album’s leak, get ready to give your ears a nice surprise. The grizzly men premiered the song “Two Weeks” with guest vocalist Victoria Legrand from Beach House at the showcase, and it was the first time the two forces joined up to perform the new song live.

Veckatimest is due out May 26 on Warp Records, and after the critically acclaimed success of their previous album Yellow House, the buzz around the new Grizzly Bear record has been swarming. Both Beach House and Grizzly Bear performed separate, phenomenal sets at SxSW, but seeing the two come together for such a memorable moment, has made the anticipation for the new record even more unbearable (no pun intended). 

Grizzly Bear will be heading out on the road in support a Veckatimest on May 24, making their way throughout the U.S., where they will be making stops at Bonnaroo and the Pitchfork Music Festival.

The rumor mills have been spinning with talk of a possible Talking Heads reunion, but it looks like David Byrne has dispelled these hopeful thoughts. Sorry Talking Heads fans, but it looks like you’ll be more likely to see Byrne twirling around in a tutu on stage these days, than seeing him team up with his former band anytime soon. 

In response to an interview with Metro, Byrne said “I’m not keen and it’s unlikely to happen. I don’t need the money badly enough.” Talking Heads haven’t been on stage together since 2002 when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. 

The band split up in 1991, and Byrne has been busy with numerous side projects since, including his record label Luaka Bop and most recently, his collaboration with New York dance trio Brazilian Girls on “Losing Myself” — Byrne’s third hip-hop/dance collab of 2009 according to Rolling Stone.

Byrne will be taking the stage in June as one of the headliners for this year’s Bonnaroo music festival, so if you need your Talking Heads fix, don’t worry. Byrne will most likely be taking your mind on a classically conceptual “Head trip” — adorned with tutus and props galore.

It looks like Bruce Springsteen is making his way through the festival circuit this spring and summer. It was rumored just last week that Mr. America himself might possibly be headlining Bonnaroo Festival, but now Bruce will be making his way over to the U.K. for the Glastonbury Festival, where he will be the Saturday night headliner as well.

While we’re a little curious as to how “Born In the U.S.A.” will pan out over on the other side of the pond, the sold out music festival — which will take place on June 26-28 — and the its organizers are very excited to have Springsteen grace their stage. “I’m so pleased that Bruce Springsteen has agreed to come to Worthy Farm for the first time,” said festival chief Michael Eavis. “He’s one of the all-time rock legends and I’m confident that this will be one of our best shows ever.”

Just last week, Emily Eavis, who helps run the festival, dismissed rumors that The Rolling Stones and U2 would be headlining the festival, but said “I’m knocked out that we’ve managed to get Bruce to play. It’s the icing on the cake of this year’s bill, which I’m sure will take everyone’s breath away when we announce the full details.”

So far, only a hand full of acts along with Bruce have been confirmed for the festival, including Bon Iver, Lilly Allen, and Franz Ferdinand. Among other artists rumored to play are Neil Young,Blur, Coldplay, and Oasis.

Here you have it, less than a week after Coachella’s line-up was finally released, this year’s Bonnaroo line-up has been announced. Mr. Super Bowl himself, Bruce Springsteen and his E Street band, alongside recently reunited jam-band-legends Phish, will be headlining the giant four-day music festival down in good ole Manchester, Tennessee on June 11-14.  

This year’s festival will celebrate Bonnaroo’s eighth consecutive year running, and will include over 120 bands; and what a solid — if not exhausting — selection of bands it is. TV on the Radio, Wilco, The Beastie Boys, Animal Collective, Bon Iver, Andrew Bird, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Crystal Castles and Grizzly Bear are among the swarm of artists we are excited to see take the stage at the massive music fest. 

Phish will be playing twice during the festival, which will certainly be a special treat for fans who have been waiting since 2004 for their reunion to happen. And for fans who can’t attend the monstrosity of a festival in the heart of Tennessee, they can watch it on FUSE, who will be exclusively airing live coverage of the event through both its television station and websites. 

Bonnaroo organizers are also switching some things up this year, as the expensive four-day tickets will be available on a payment plan for those who are suffering from joblessness, but still need to see their favorite musical acts at a four-day fiasco of sweat, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll. Tickets for Bonnaroo go on sale this Friday, February 7 at 12 noon EST. Below is the list of confirmed artists, which came with the promise of more to be announced in the coming weeks.

As the countdown to festival season begins, some fests are happy to announce their line-ups (Langerado!) while others prefer to hold back. Keep people guessing. Build the anticipation. Of course that starts the rumor mills churnin’, and the first rumors about Coachella come from Rolling Stone, who are speculating that Britney Spears will make her way to the heralded festival this year.

The thought is that Britney will do a dance tent set, as Madonna did in 2006. Interestingly, Britney’s touring schedule has a big gap in it between stops in L.A. and Anaheim, California, on Saturday, April 18, smack-dab in the middle of the fest. Other acts in the rumor mill considering stops at Coachella are The Pretenders, The Killers, Keane, We Are Scientists and festival vets Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In other festival news, Rolling Stone also reports that sources close to Phish say the band will headline Bonnaroo for two nights. It would be Trey Anastasio’s fifth time on the Bonnaroo stage, and Phish’s announcement in October that they’ll play three dates in 2009 makes the idea even more likely. VIP tickets and pre-sales go out with 2008, so if all this excitement is enough for you, hurry up and invest in the rumors now.
