As we told you back in December, Boy George was sent to jail after being convicted for beating and imprisoning a Norwegian male escort. The Culture Club frontman was supposed to serve 18-months in jail, but the Karma police have awarded him with release after only serving four months.

George (seen above in better days) was found guilty of detaining a male escort, Audun Charlsen, in his London home, but was released from Suffolk’s Edmunds Hill Prison today because of good behavior. George is not getting off too easily though. The singer will be monitored with an ankle tag to keep track of his whereabouts. He will also have a curfew, which he will have to obey for the next 14 months.

This is not George’s first time in a violent relationship. He and Culture Club drummer Jon Moss were in a long term relationship that was known for being physical and verbally abusive, which many have linked to band’s downfall in 1986.

Today’s news for the weird (and terminally attention-starved) comes to us from 80s one-hit-wonder Marilyn (Peter Robinson) who has professed to In Touch Magazine that former Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale was “the love of his life.” So that would make Gavin — but wait, he’s married, right?

According to Marilyn, who also had a fling with Boy George, it was “a long standing affair” between he and Rossdale. They used to party in London’s nightclubs together. He gave photos to the magazine of he and Rossdale together, which are in the latest issue on newsstands now.

Former lover Boy George apparently exposed all this already back in 1995 in his book Take It Like A Man, but at the time both Marilyn and Gavin denied it and nobody believed much of anything Boy George said, anyway. Marilyn said he and Rossdale were an item for five years, “but it felt like 40″ and of course that Rossdale was “the love of his life.”

Can’t help but wonder what’s more unsettling for Gwen Stefani — her husband’s alleged affair with a man, or the fact that InTouch suggests she looks like Marilyn.

We’re not sure if this gives homosexual men a bad rap, or if it will help toughen up any of the misconceived stereotypes, but we know for a fact false imprisonment is not good karma.

Aside from being our editor’s mom’s favorite band in the 80s, Culture Club’s second album, Colour by Numbers, was released in 1983 and immediately launched the band to international stardom. Ironically, “Karma Chameleon” was the second single, the first being “Church of the Poison Mind”, but while “Church” became both a top 10 single in both the UK and US, “Karma Chameleon” gave the band its first #1 hit in both countries — eventually hitting the top spot in a total of 16 countries and earning the band a Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Culture Club was also the first band in history to have a diamond album (10 times platinum) in Canada, for more than a million copies sold.

Ironically, this is not George’s first foray into physical abuse of a partner. He was infamously involved romantically with the group’s drummer, Jon Moss. Their relationship lasted for over four years and was often rumored to be turbulent, with physical and verbal abuse. The pressure to hide the relationship from the press and the public started to take its toll on the band, with some linking their troubles with Culture Club’s ultimate demise in 1986.
