This seemed to be a week of a lot of big names getting involved in various acts of celebration and controversy. We spoke to Chris Cornell and celebrated the reunions of The Libertines and The Strokes, while sadly celebrating Joey Ramones Birthday. Radiohead entered the studio again, Jack White and Alison Mosshart were part of a rumored scrummage, Trash Talk e-mailed Us, Gonzales broke records at masturbatory speed, and of course we premiered new music. Sharon Van Etten also sang to us in her kitchen; that was nice. Here is The Tripwire week in review.

So, how many times can we get updated on the Danger Mouse, Sparklehorse, David Lynch Collab album Dark Night Of The Soul in one week? Not once, not twice, but three times. Wilco was also on the non-humble tip this week, Brian Williams padded his indie cred with Deer Tick and we just might have found the next Wavves before he even hits puberty. Swine flu wasn’t nearly as big a topic this week, but it still reared it’s ugly head to make sure we didn’t forget about it. Still, we were able to step outside to speak with M. Ward, Antlers and Local Natives as well as release some exclusive music. But probably the biggest highlight was getting to see David Byrne, Sharon Jones, Feist, Bon Iver, The National, Dirty Projectors, My Brightest Diamond and more at the Dark Was The Night event.
