<p>Former <a href="http://www.myspace.com/grandaddy" target="new">Grandaddy</a> frontman <a href="http://www.myspace.com/jasonlytle" target="new"><b>Jason Lytle</b></a> just won&#8217;t get off our radar lately &#8212; yesterday it was his <a href="http://www.thetripwire.com/news/2009/04/20/explosions-in-the-sky-celebrate-10-year-anniversary-with-no-age-octopus-project-jason-lytle-and-more/" target="new">collaboration with Explosions in the Sky</a>, today it&#8217;s even more collaborations, tour dates and a solo album.<br />
<span id="more-21479"></span><br />
Lytle&#8217;s solo debut, <i>Yours Truly, The Commuter</i>, is set for release May 19. But why rest on your laurels, or your highly anticipated album? Lytle also recently contributed vocals to the forthcoming album <i>Divided by Night</i> by <a href="http://www.thecrystalmethod.com/" target="new">The Crystal Method</a> (scheduled for release May 12), on the <i>Dark Night of the Soul</i> album, a collaboration between <a href="http://www.dangermousesite.com/" target="new">Danger Mouse</a> and Mark Linkous of <a href="http://www.myspace.com/sparklehorse" target="new">Sparklehorse</a> and the critically acclaimed <a href="http://www.myspace.com/mward" target="new">M. Ward</a> album <i>Hold Time</i>.</p>
<p>And no busy musician&#8217;s schedule would be complete without a little love for the fans &#8212; Lytle will be heading on the road for a few days in June to support labelmate <a href="http://www.nekocase.com/" target="new">Neko Case</a>. </p>
<p>06.04.09 &#8211; Seattle, Wash. (Paramount Theatre)<br />
06.05.09 &#8211; Portland, Ore. (Crystal Ballroom)<br />
06.07.09 &#8211; Eugene, Ore. (McDonald Theatre)<br />
06.09.09 &#8211; San Francisco, Calif. (Warfield)<br />
06.12.09 &#8211; Los Angeles, Calif. (Greek Theatre)</p>

<p><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danger_Mouse" target="new"><strong>Danger Mouse</strong></a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Linkous" target="new"><strong>Mark Linkous</strong></a> of <a href="http://www.sparklehorse.com" target="new">Sparklehorse</a> announced almost three years ago that they would be working together on a new collaborative project, but as of yesterday, when a poster for the project was delivered to our offices, it looks like the duo of &#8220;Dangerhorse&#8221; are engaging a wide spectrum of talent to help out on the new record.<br />
<span id="more-20311"></span><br />
<em> Dark Night of the Soul</em> is set to come out this summer, and though no further information on the album has been offered, the list of special guests &#8212; released only via the poster &#8212; makes the new project look like it could be one of the most eclectic collaborations we&#8217;ve seen in a long while.</p>
<p>Featuring <a href="http://www.blackfrancis.net/" target="new">Black Francis</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Casablancas" target="new">Julian Casablancas</a>, <a href="http://www.flaminglips.com" target="new">The Flaming Lips</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iggy_Pop" target="new">Iggy Pop</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Lynch" target="new">David Lynch</a>, and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Mercer_(musician)" target="new">James Mercer</a>, among a bunch of others, <em>Dark Night of the Soul</em> is bound to offer us an immense amount of ear-candy come the summer. And lets face it, who needs supergroups like <a href="http://http://www.thetripwire.com/news/2009/03/26/satriani-puts-legal-issues-to-bed-and-starts-supergroup-chickenfoot/">Chickenfoot</a> when you&#8217;ve got the likes of Dangerhorse giving you all of this and more on one awesome album?</p>
