“Oasis” to Release New Album

liamgallagher460So, the rumors were true: Oasis is set to release its first album without Noel Gallagher. The band is currently working without a name, but Liam Gallagher told Virgin Radio Italy that he would “like to have a record out by July next year. We’ve already done about three songs and they’re fucking sounding amazing.” While he has yet to confirm that the band will continue to use the Oasis moniker, Liam emphasized that Noel’s departure had done little to change the group’s sound: “It ain’t a new direction. We’re not making reggae music or rap music. It might have a bit more energy and be fresher. It’s not going to be that different.” Check out the full interview after the jump.

Oasis Definitely, Not Maybe Broken Up

oasis

Closure is generally a good thing. After John Cusack achieved it in “High Fidelity” he ended up getting back together with his insanely cute girlfriend and starting a record label. We’re pretty sure the dudes from Oasis already have cute girlfriends, or wives or whatever. And that there’s about a million rich dudes in London that would give them a record label no questions asked. But all the same, we hope something in a similarly positive vein comes their way.

After news at the end of summer that Noel had left the band, things weren’t looking up for the Gallagher Brothers. But now, Liam has officially confirmed the inevitable. “Well, Oasis is no longer,” Liam told the London Times. “I think we all know that. So that’s done.” Little more was said of it besides notign they had a good run and that his mind ha salready moved on to his next musical project, whatever that will be. Nice to see he’s got a positive outlook on the whole thing, and not, you know, looking back in anger. (Via: P4K)

Despite her obvious obsession with Liam and a security guard who kept getting in her way, we thought you’d like to see what she saw.
