According to London’s Times, the Libertines might reunite in the studio next year. Aversion reports that “no firmed-up plans have been revealed,” which makes the prospects all the more suspect, but the band’s on-stage reunion in May is said to have prompted members Pete Doherty and Carl Barat to think about returning to the studio together, putting aside their respective differences. Barat, as you may or may not remember, kicked Doherty to the curb when the singer was unable to wean himself off of drugs. So who decided to compromise?

A newly sober Pete Doherty was detained this past Friday on a British Airways flight to Geneva after being found in a drug-induced haze in the plane’s lavatory, SPIN reports. The Babyshambles (and ex-Libertines) singer refused to leave the bathroom until ten minutes before landing, whereupon he was escorted out by the flight crew, looking “completely out of it.” A hypodermic needle found by the pilot was reported to the police and Doherty was subsequently charged and fined, though ultimately let go. Apparently Pete is still following ex-girlfriend Amy Winehouse’s mantra regarding rehab: no, no, no!
