Pele may have disbanded in 2004, but Polyvinyl Records is resurrecting some of the band’s rare-Pele tracks from old studio recordings, and will be releasing the work as a compilation album next week.

The album, A Scuttled Bender In A Watery Closet, will be released on April 7, and looks at over a years worth of Pele’s work, including over two hours of rare music from nine different labels in the U.S. and Japan. The album also comes with a 24-page booklet of album art, and a complete band chronology. But be forewarned Pele fans, you better get the album quick.

Polyvinyl is only releasing 2000 copies of the rare tracks, so if you want to feed your Pele-hunger that you’ve been thirsting for since their break up five years ago, you better jump fast next week to get yourself a copy of this gem. Along with the release of A Scuttled Bender in a Watery Closet, Polyvinyl has also re-released two of Pele’s albums, Teaching the History of Teaching Geography and People Living with Animals.
