
Charlie Rose is one of our favorite interviewers. The late-night PBS show that bears his name easily has the most varied repertoire of personalities of any interview show on TV, and each interview is conveyed intelligently, entertainingly and more importantly, comfortably. He’s like a Larry King that doesn’t give us the creeps. And tonight he sits down with the poster-child (literally) of pop art, Shepard Fairey, to discuss his meteoric rise to commercial success following the now-iconic Obama poster image.

The new poster children of trend made an appearance last night in NYC to celebrate the release of The Spirit Of Apollo, and our very own Maia Stern reported back with the photographic evidence. She let us know that Spike Jonze’s brother Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon — better known as N.A.S.A. — brought the party, but like you would expect for a group who uses so many guests on their recording, their live show was a bit short on the substance side.

Resident Tripwire videographer Maia Stern was lucky enough to get tickets to the inauguration ceremonies on Tuesday. But her luck didn’t stop there, because she got to attend the private Shepard Fairey inauguration party where both Santogold and De La Soul performed, while Moby DJ’d. Apparently there was no sighting of the Obamas dancing to “At Last” like they did at ten other parties, there was plenty of good vibes to make up for it. Lucky for us, she took her camera with her and this is what she saw.
