
Flashback City. Billboard reported late last Friday that Rhino, in line with the festival’s 40th anniversary, will be releasing the deepest and most extensive Woodstock box set yet. Woodstock — 40 Years On: Back to Yasgur’s Farm will span six discs and include unreleased treats from the Who, Grateful Dead and other legends. Rhino Vice President of A&R told Billboard, “The goal was to make it as real as possible…as authentic an experience as possible. It feels like dirt. It feels like a field. We wanted to take you there. We worked very hard to make it a true document of that time.” Hmmm. Still no word on whether or not the set will also include sheets of acid and Demetri Martin.
