Human Highway – “The Sound”

Human Highway

Ever want to go back in time and merge Eraserhead with Max Headroom and set it all to a 70s folk-pop soundtrack? Well, then today’s your lucky day, because Human Highway has taken us there in the video for the single “The Sound”.

The mellow folk/country duo of Islands‘ Nick Thorburn and singer/songwriter Jim Guthrie handed over the directorial duties for “The Sound”, from last year’s Moody Motorcycle, to Olivier Groulx of Arcade Fire’s “Black Mirror” video fame. Much like that vid, there is an interactive element that sees Thorburn and Guthrie’s faces disassembled and floating in space with different shapes. Groulx has also set up a website that allows you to then move around the facial features to dictate the sounds being made. We don’t suggest trying this at their shows however.
